Welcome to COMPASS

The Center for Orientation, Mentoring, Parents, and Academic Student Success (COMPASS) is dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of Michigan Tech’s students so that they develop attitudes, values, and skills which enhance their academic and personal success. A committed staff offers students and their families programs, services, and opportunities that challenge and support their transition to University life.

Academic Support

COMPASS provides Academic Support by coordinating academic advisor support and providing academic and personal guidance. COMPASS also coordinates academic probation intervention and academic recognition. Learn more about having a succesful college experience through the courses, Creating Your Success (UN1010) and Frameworks for Success (UN1000). Learning Communities and Mentor Network provide students with opportunities to maximize their Michigan Tech experience.

Orientation

COMPASS coordinates first year student orientation, transfer student orientation, student athlete orientation and organizes Reading as Inquiry: Summer Reading. Learn more at our orientation webpage.
